The usage of the Newlib bitsets is just an implementation detail. It would be possible to replace the implementation. However, in this case you would have to duplicate code. You would still use the Newlib bitsets for the POSIX API parts of RTEMS. The duplicated implementation still has to consider the Newlib bitset for the conversion to/from CPU sets.</p>
