You're not too late. We don't think the SMP support (broadly speaking)<br>
is suitable for GSoC projects at this time. There might be some<br>
specific aspects, such as SMP support for a particular platform, that<br>
you could undertake. Another project that may be suitable and timely<br>
could be to work on improving the newly submitted drvmgr code, this is<br>
listed as "Merge Leon", and there remains quite a few open problems to<br>
solve. There was an email thread on this (subject: [PATCH 000/111]<br>

Regardless, you should begin by going through our GSoC Getting Started<br>
Guide, that will familiarize you with building and running RTEMS in a<br>
simulator. Then, if the project you choose will use a particular<br>
target BSP, you should build tools for it and be able to demo it. You<br>
should get a reference letter from someone with KDE as well to<br>
strengthen your application. Feel free to ask questions here, and on<br>
IRC you may occasionally get some interactive discussions.<br>
