From joel.sherrill at oarcorp.com Thu Mar 8 17:32:36 2007 From: joel.sherrill at oarcorp.com (Joel Sherrill) Date: Thu, 08 Mar 2007 11:32:36 -0600 Subject: RTEMS 4.7.0 Released Message-ID: <45F048B4.5060700@oarcorp.com> Hi, RTEMS 4.7.0 is (finally) available. In addition to updating the website to reflect the availability of 4.7.0, there are some release notes at: http://www.rtems.org/rtems-4.7 I am sure something important between 4.6 and 4.7 has been left out. Just let me know. It is at ftp://www.rtems.org/pub/rtems/4.7.0 or http://www.rtems.org/ftp/pub/rtems/4.7.0. The Apt/Yum repositories are up and if you are a RPM GNU/Linux user, this is an easy way to grab and update tools. If you have questions or issues, feel free to bring them up on the RTEMS mailing list. Although this announcement is a bit hesitant in tone, this is the best RTEMS release yet. It is feature rich and tested on more simulator targets than ever before. We get more regular reports from users than at any time. There are more submitters than at any time in the RTEMS Project history. This release is the result of the effort of MANY people and I want to thank each of them. I ask that you update the appropriate BSP page on the Wiki with any status and testing information you have. And if you have a real problem, file a PR in Bugzilla. --joel From joel.sherrill at oarcorp.com Tue Mar 13 21:01:49 2007 From: joel.sherrill at oarcorp.com (Joel Sherrill) Date: Tue, 13 Mar 2007 16:01:49 -0500 Subject: RTEMS 4.7.99.1 Available Message-ID: <45F7113D.4080303@oarcorp.com> Hi, RTEMS 4.7.99.1 is now available. This is a snapshot from the CVS head. It should be as stable as the 4.7.0 release but does include more changes which did not make the 4.7 release. In addition to Ralf's tireless work to get us closer and closer to GNU build standards, there are a number of changes which might impact a user: + addition of POSIX barrier, spinlock, and rwlock. + addition of Classic API Barrier (spinlock and rwlock planned) + public interface of libmisc services changing to begin with rtems_ and slowly documentation is being added for them to the manual set + When priority of blocked thread is changed, its placement on a priority blocking queue is reevaluated. + Altera NIOS II port not on 4.7 branch It is at ftp://ftp.rtems.org/pub/rtems/4.7.99.1 Please report problems. Patches are even more welcome. :) --joel From joel.sherrill at oarcorp.com Thu Mar 8 17:32:36 2007 From: joel.sherrill at oarcorp.com (Joel Sherrill) Date: Thu, 08 Mar 2007 11:32:36 -0600 Subject: RTEMS 4.7.0 Released Message-ID: <45F048B4.5060700@oarcorp.com> Hi, RTEMS 4.7.0 is (finally) available.
