AFAIR, no.

This patch only addresses 2 out of 3 issues, this PR is about.

What I haven't addressed is c) from my initial PR 
(i.e. the test itself is invalid).

AFAIS, it seems to be presume Linux memalign behavior and does not test for
posix_memalign nominal behavior.
