Agreed about the objdump comment. I will take a look to find a more robust
solution for detecting the objcopy flags needed. The option is only needed on
some architectures not all.

Yes tar has a range of compatibility issues. This how-ever relates to the
implementation in RTEMS and that is not the purpose of this bug. This is a
separate issue.

Accepting this, can we construct an autoconf test for a specific version of tar
we know is compatible with the implementation in RTEMS ?
