This doesn't mean anything ... it's nothing but an arbitrary tool from an
arbitray source, like many 1000s others.

What makes texi2html a bad choice is it being closely connected to TeX.

Agreed ... texi2www was dead as a package can bee.

I know, no disagreement ... we one of the very few exots who using texinfo at
all ;)

We will see where this ends ... for now this is an "unlaid egg" as we say in
German - I think we should switch to using "makeinfo --html".

BTW: I think, I wasn't clear enough, I am OK with you applying your patch to
CVS.
