New description:

 It looks like v850 is missing from a list somewhere in libdl.

 rtems-syms -e -c "-mv850e1 -O2 -g -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -Wimplicit-
 function-declaration -Wstrict-prototypes -Wnested-externs" -o dl-sym.o
 dl01.pre
 error: machine-type: unknown machine type: 36

 This appears to be happening because v850 is not in the types_to_labels[]
 table in rld-elf.cpp.
