 The FreeBSD project is about to prepare the FreeBSD 12 release soon:

 https://www.freebsd.org/releases/12.0R/schedule.html

 Use this time frame to update the libbsd stepwise to a FreeBSD trunk
 version close to the FreeBSD 12 release.
