New description:

 With the commit

 some settings of the pin multiplexer are initialized twice (like I2C pins
 which are already initialized by the I2C driver). Ideally that should be
 replaced with one clean (maybe device tree based) initialization during
 BSP startup.

 This could be part of a GSoC project (#3791).
