 I would use a YAML file for this. It could be an extension of a build
 system item. We should record the upstream Git repository, the commit, and
 for each file the path translation. With a script we could import upstream
 commits into our repository and update the YAML file. Something similar
 could be used for Newlib as well since we have a couple of files which
 should be synchronized with OpenBSD and FreeBSD.
