 Thanks for input and feedback. I agree with what you are saying.

 The input can be in hundreds of mega so that is not practical to hold it
 until the end. This code is a performance hot spot so what happens needs
 to be kept as simple as possible.

 Would you be able to make a buffer of data I could test solution with?
