We have previously used Google to do our analytics. With this effort we have moved off onto our own self-hosted [Matombo](https://matomo.org/)

Our tracking host is:

* https://eye.rtems.org/

For anyone curious we have tracked users for some very good reasons:

1. See where interest is on RTEMS versions and our websites.
2. Tracking activity on websites so we know where to pay more attention.
3. Knowing how many real users are generating traffic versus bots.

Number 3 above is important as with the large increase in AI scrapers and other bots it has become impossible to attend to our real users.

This is our attempt at being more privacy-focused as well as being able to do more interesting things with this data. We've always collected logs for security reasons and outside of knowing what versions of documentation or what projects users visit the most we really don't do too much with it.
