There are only 3 BSPs with a watchdog driver. The leon3 has bsp/watchdog.h which looks to be a generic BSP-independent API. Could this support use the same API? Or is it missing something?

I am not proposing you completely solve the generic watchdog API problem. Just see if you can align with the leon3 API or if it needs additions.
