I have made a rough attempt to do a hardcoded conversion from rest to markdown available in a very work-in-progress state in https://gitlab.rtems.org/martinerikwerner/rtems-central/-/commits/markdown

This might at least give some hints about what code might need changing, regardless of what form the proper conversion end up taking (which appears to a separate, ongoing discussion).
