The CI/CD file in https://gitlab.rtems.org/rtems/contrib/micropython/-/merge_requests/2 is not quite ready as GitLab removed support for the `except:` keyword without adding support for it in the `rules:`.  This means changes to `ports/rtems/*` will be accepted if any file is couched in a commit to that directory.  If it's outside and no changes to `ports/rtems/*` it will fail.
