It's already committed, I think I prefer the same patch across all branches where possible.

I disagree about the difference in branching structures as this is how we got in a bad state going from 6f12 to current. There were lots of missing patches on main/master and I'm not sure we've even fully recovered from that. If we're not treating 7f15/main as the primary development branch then I'm not sure it should exist at all.
