I think this approach makes the most sense for how FreeBSD is setup.  Having multiple moving targets is a bad idea.  The releng branch is a tag / snapshot if we _really_ have to bring in a bug fix those exist on the `stable` branches which are based off of a single `releng` branch.  As long as we stay relatively up-to-date with `current` it should not be bad to update to the next.

`main` on libbsd will transition to FreeBSD 15 which is released in December and main will be `current` (FreeBSD 16)
