That is the correct approach according to https://docs.rtems.org/docs/main/eng/coding-conventions.html#third-party-source-code

We don't have a consistent way yet of capturing things like that `ORIGIN` concept. Personally I would like to handle it through the spec files, and I've been working in that direction, but it is slow progress. There is a list of 3rd party files being used in the CI now I think.
