Another reason why this is the route I think we should go is it will ensure search engines don't index text that's not relevant to the release.  Remember we have the version switcher now so flipping between main / release versions is just a single dropdown so users can look at the difference easily if they really want to.

We should probably have a notice at the top of the devel docs letting users know they're on a development version that refers to 'main' and to use the dropdown to switch to their version
