Backport of ec42cadd3b4 (!1383) to 6, needed so rtems/pkg/rtems-libbsd!156 can follow to 6-freebsd-14 — the handler registration cannot link without the hooks. psxpipe01 passes on arm/xilinx_zynq_a9_qemu.
