Sounds good .. for CI we wouldn't want to have pre-checks as we want to know the full failure mode anyway pre-checks just chew up resources for the occasional failure it's not worth it.

A few seconds doesn't seem like long at all that's great and sounds useful.  I asked because downloading all the resources takes ages and wasn't sure if this was like that.
