@joel I just took a look at the linkcmds.base file for the sparc/erc32 (a non-affected BSP) and it's completely different from other linker scripts. There are no ELF sections & everything is defined via linker symbols. So maybe moving affected regions out of ELF sections & only using linker symbols is the correct approach, which I mentioned as the first option.
