On further reflection the possible fix above is certainly incorrect. A better fix would be to replace the test !rtems_ibio_iop_is_free() inside rtems_libio_free_iop() with an atomic test and set of LIBIO_FLAGS_FREE prior to the rtems_libio_lock(). I don't know about spintrcritical24.
