Wow! I didn't realise it that my last commit would be that close. 

I liked the macro approach since it tended to avoid duplication and ensured the behavior was the same because the code was really the same across the functions. I didn't think you were criticising it. It was just a statement that Ralf didn't like it and no one wanted to argue about it. :)
