Is this then also a restriction that commits can't span multiple root directories? I just moved JFFS2 from cpukit to contrib and that presents a challenge to this guidance.
For the JFFS2 sign fixup that just went in, the above guidance would yield `cpukit/src:` which is not particularly useful. There is a similar issue when adding header content alongside source file content. The common directory may not make sense if I were to add a driver to `bsps/shared/dev/serial/` and a corresponding header with register definitions and other utility functions under `bsps/include/dev/serial/` leading to `bsps:` since `bsps/` is already the common directory.
