OK @ppisa I reworded it a little as you suggested.  
Added `tms570_bsp_pin_set_function_unlocked` and `tms570_bsp_pin_clear_function_unlocked` functions, preserving the previous pin manipulation behavior and changed `tms570_bsp_pin_set_function` and `tms570_bsp_pin_clear_function` to wrapper functions which do the full process.
