## Summary

<!--Provide background information about the project idea.-->

In GSoC 2025 a MicroPython port was completed it is located here:

* https://gitlab.rtems.org/rtems/contrib/micropython/-/tree/rtems/ports/rtems

Networking support is incomplete and needs to be added for at least 1 hardware BSP and 1 simulated BSP. These can be the same or different. The project should first have networking support working with QEMU and then the target hardware platform.

Both of the targets should already have networking support in RTEMS As this is not an RTEMS networking project but accessing networking via MP.

You should have the target hardware available to show RTEMS running on it. It is possible to delay this until GSoC starts please reach out for alternate methods of verification.

## Approach

<!--Describe the general techniques to use to complete the project.-->

The approach will vary depending on the target simulation and target hardware.

In general you should have networking up and working within RTEMS first with a user application and ensure this works. The next step(s) would be to investigate the best way to connect MicroPython into the RTEMS networking stack.

## Knowledge/Skills

<!--add the programming languages or other technical skills needed.-->

General C and Python knowledge. More C than Python if your Python is not that great that is OK.

## Possible Mentors
