## Generative AI
Yes, generative AI was used.
- Prompt: None. The work came out of an interactive session over several
days (debugging an EPICS IOC on RTEMS/Raspberry Pi 3B+), not a single
prompt.
- Model: Anthropic Claude, via the Claude Code assistant.
- How it was used: the assistant helped design the instrumentation that
located the fault (a RAM trace of interrupt-controller reads surviving
the watchdog reset), identified the ffs() on the unmasked IRQ_BASIC
value in bsp_interrupt_dispatch() as the cause, proposed the one-line
mask, and drafted the commit message and this description. I reviewed
the analysis against the BCM2835 documentation and the BSP source,
built the patched kernel, and did all testing on the hardware (more
than 15 h and 17 h of continuous operation under USB load, versus a
freeze within a minute before). I understand the change and take
responsibility for it.
- I have not used a product that claims copyright on its output, and I
have legitimate access to the tool (a paid Anthropic subscription).
