## Summary
RTEMS can be built out of tree but there does not appear to be an example of doing this in the Users Guide. The following set of commands builds RTEMS out of tree. 

```
rm -rf /tmp/bsp
mkdir  /tmp/bsp
../rtems/waf configure --prefix=/tmp/bsp-install \
                --rtems-config=config-default.ini \
                --top=$HOME/rtems-work/rtems \
                --out=/tmp/bsp && \
../rtems/waf --top=$HOME/rtems-work/rtems >/dev/null && \
../rtems/waf --top=$HOME/rtems-work/rtems install >/dev/null
echo $?
```

This command sequence assumes the ini file is at the top of the RTEMS source. This should not be assumed. This script needs to be further tested and tweaked to be an example where nothing user related is in the RTEMS source tree.
