You mean kinda like --enable-rtemsbsp? :P

I think keeping it kputc() would be a legitimate solution. Like Joel said,
rtems_xxx_putc() just isn't consistent. For me, what's most important is
the presence of the letter 'k'. Seeing the 'k' allows the user to make a
clear association with the word "kernel". If I'm a user and I see that
there's a printk(), then the only logical thing for me to infer is that
kputc() is the putc()-equivalent for the kernel.
