[PATCH 01/15] PR 2048 - Removed use of PPC440 macro from asm.h and moved affected macros to registers.h

IMHO, they are necessary.  They improve the readability and clarity of the code.  I suggest applying the patch and 'diff -b'.

There are a lot of white space changes in this patch.  Can you please separate
the white space changes from the other changes.  Are the white space changes
really necessary?
