Starting a different thread to gather some technical information.

Sebastian.. can you provide a list of "deprecated" PIC interrupt files
and methods that we would ultimately like to remove.

And define what are the "preferred" PIC IRQ support files.

Ditto.. jennifer and Sebastian.. any lingering issues like this in the PCI
support.

The unified APIs project should  also ensure that the "preferred" PIC
IRQ model is available on simple vectored architectures. This is simply
a matter of leveraging the implementation for SPARC BSPs and refactoring
it as needed to support other architectures. This would make it possible
to assume PIC IRQ model on all BSPs in the new TCP/IP and USB stacks.
