Difference in obcopy between stm32f4 vs lm3s6965

Hi,
int the lm3s6965, in the testsuites/samples directory, the resulting 
.exe file is converted by

arm-rtems-objcopy -O binary xxx.exe xxx.ralf

in the stm32f4 BSP, it is a simple

cp xxx.exe xxx.ralf

any reason for that?

(as one has to do it manually after that ...)
