I have pushed support to build qemu into the RSB. The doco is lacking so
here is the command ...

  $ cd bare
  $ ../source-builder/sb-set-builder --log=log_qemu \
        --prefix=/home/chris/development/rtems/qemu --trace devel/qemu

It builds a recent git version of qemu. This support is new and I have
tested MacOS, FreeBSD, Fedora and CentOS.

Qemu keeps patches in patchworks here
http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/project/qemu-devel/list/ and the RSB
supports fetching patches from patchworks. I see a few patches related
to this topic for the ppc around patch number 166827. I used the
pwclient tool available under the "project info" link. If you need some
special patches not in git I am happy to add them.

Chris
