I think what I've actually done is worked around not knowing about the 
link with addresses only option.  The result should be the same:

	A stripped down image that contains only the thread, located at some
address.

What you still have to do is to locate that thread. The problem is
compounded when
one considers that threads can be deleted.  How do you reclaim the space
by using
ONLY "link with addresses only"?
