What is the ".exe" executable?

Hi all...

I have started with RTEMS using Linux and ATLAS ACE360 as target. I could
make the executable ".exe" archive but i don't know what i must do with it.
I have shown that archive and i found that it looks like and objet file.
That is true?..
I want to make an image file to dump it to the ACE360 board. What do i need
to do?...
