I was steeped in following how-to's and not thinking: rpm -i  ---ignoreos... solves the problem


  When attempting to install the 4.50-beta rtems-base-binutils... RPM from .. /Cygwin/i-386 on a W2000-based cygwin 1.1.4 system I get "package rtems-base-binutils-2.9.5.0.24-1 is for a different operating system" -- is W2k not a supported host?
