I think you are making great progress. :-)

The bad news is that this is a red flag for the RTEMS community. RTEMS
has
come a long way on its setup and instructions, but it still hard enough
for
a RTEMS' newcomer to start playing around with it.

I would recommend you to stay focused on pc386, compile everything, run
a couple of examples, and then move on to other BSP. Remember to install
a new toolset for the new BSP.
