help with bootp

I'm attempting to get the 68360 bootloader working. (using rtems-4.5.1-pre3)
bootp is sending a correct request and my bootp server (rh linux bootpd <not 
dhcpd>) is sending a correct reply (viewed with sniffer).

It appears that in bootp_subr.c that I am stuck with the EWOULDBLOCK error 
from soreceive().

I have tried netdemo and tftpTest from the netdemos package and those work 
fine.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
