D'Oh!  I had forgotten about these, Jake.  :)  here I spent last week
reinventing the wheel.  If either of you would like to see my i2c code,
let me know.  I split it up between a "low-level" libi2c and an
honest-to-god RTEMS driver for the individual i2c devices, which right
now are an EEPROM and a dallas RTC.
