calloc failor

hello everybody

at the time I'm doing my first steps with RTEMS.
I'm building RTEMS for i386ex and I have problems
building the sample hello.
During initialization the system halts while 
rtems_lib_init(). the reason is the return of
a NULL-vector from calloc. has anybody an idea
what is going wrong?
I have no experience with rtems and any usefull
tips would surely save lot of time.
