mips RPM compiler problem

Frequently the mips RPM compiler in the latest snapshot will fail complaining that
a symbol does not exist in a source module. When I inspect the module, the symbol
is not in the module but something very close exists. 

For example:
 the symbol does not exist: New_priosity
but the module contain: New_priority

Has anyone else noticed that the compiler is changing symbols.
