Configure Problems

Hi,
I am having configure problems with the following error;

checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler
cannot create executables
configure: error: /bin/sh '../../../../source/c/make/configure' failed for
c/make
sed: can't read confdefs.h: No such file or directory

I know that I have seen the answer for this problem come across the message
list at least once but I didn't save the message.

Can someone help?
