Cannot configure rtems-4.5.1-pre3 on Cygwin

Try "/opt/rtems/bin/i386-rtems-gcc -V conftest.c" (or is it a -v?) and
see 
what assembler is used.

Also .. what tool versions are you using? Are you using the cygwin
binaries
from the same release or snapshot ones?
