Error Configuring RTEMS SH4

Hi,
I am trying to configure rtems for sh4 with the following coomand on cygwin
./configure --target=sh_rtems
the script fails at c/make directory with the following  error

failed for c/make
sed: can't read confdefs.h: No such file or directory

I have earlier compiled the 4.5 release fine for unix and psim BSP on my
Cygwin installtion
I got the same result using the latest of the snapshots.......
What could be wrong?
