Thanks.  FWIW the source for these is in every snapshot:

doc/bsp_howto/makefiles.t  (leaf directory Makefile description)
doc/bsp_howto/support.t    (libbsp/CPU/XXX/Makefile* description)

Anyone should feel free to fix documentation problems and submit
patches.
