Serial & ethernet communication

Hello all,
I am searching the source code like "minicom" available in linux, which can
provide  both communication e.g. sereal communication as well as ethernet
communication, as per my best understaniding "minicom" only provide serial
communication in linux environment.
if any one knows such source code please help me.
