Sorry for the delay on my end, had to get some products out the door!
With /bin/bash.exe copied to /bin/sh.exe, the test result is:
*** CREATE configure.ac ***
*** GENERATE configure ***
Running using function ccjfail()...
*** TEST 0 ***
*** TEST 0 FAILS ***
configure: error: invalid feature name: multilib
Running again:
Running using function ccjfail()...
*** TEST 0 ***
*** TEST 1 ***
*** TEST 2 ***
*** TEST 3 ***
*** TEST 4 ***
*** TEST 5 ***
*** TEST 6 ***
*** TEST 7 ***
*** TEST 8 ***
*** TEST 9 ***
*** TEST 10 ***
*** TEST 11 ***
*** TEST 12 ***
*** TEST 12 FAILS ***

Once more:

*** TEST 9 ***
*** TEST 10 ***
*** TEST 11 ***
*** TEST 12 ***
*** TEST 13 ***
*** TEST 13 FAILS ***
configure: error: invalid feature name: multilib
