Debug Version of Rtems 4.6.99.3

I am trying to build rtems with debug info.  I tried several of the
methods
in the archives but haven't had much luck.  

Building the hello world example with make debug fails since the debug 
versions of libraries are not there.

I am building with --enable-rtems-debug.  I cant seem to do a make debug

in the rtems build tree. I am building my own BSP with 4.6.99.3


What am I missing?
