So, this patch could be omitted, couldn't it? As -msoft-float is set  
and -O4 can do some more optimizations than -O2.

-CFLAGS_OPTIMIZE_V=-O4
+CFLAGS_OPTIMIZE_V=-O2

I have tested it with gcc 3.2.3 and it also uses FPU registers with -O4.
